This year, ADA University is participating in Baku Art Weekend 2026, presenting a series of art and cultural initiatives that encourage dialogue, creativity, and international collaboration.
As part of its participation, one of ADA University’s key projects will be WE THE ARTISTS, an international art initiative dedicated to the 250th anniversary of the United States Declaration of Independence.
Developed through a collaboration involving ADA University, .ART, HUG, and the Castellani Art Museum of Niagara University, the exhibition explores themes of freedom, identity, belonging, and the future.
The exhibition will bring together digital works from the collection of the Castellani Art Museum of Niagara University, works by participants in the international open call, and physical artworks by local Azerbaijani artists, including Rashad Mehdiyev, Narmina Najaf, Irina Eldarova, Arif Aziz, Vugar Ali, Anar Yolchiyev, Emin Qasımov, Aliya Asadullayeva, and others.
The presentation of rare paintings by Vajiha Samadova, Azerbaijan’s first professional female painter, and Elbay Rzaguliyev, a renowned People’s Artist of Azerbaijan, carries particular symbolic significance.
The project will be introduced internationally during Baku Art Weekend, creating a platform in Baku for artistic dialogue between American themes and diverse international perspectives.
